This research aims to describe the conditions and what factors inhibit and support students' interest in reading in class 4 A at SD YPK Klasaman 2, Sorong City. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a research design, namely a case study. The subjects in this research were the class teacher and 22 students in class 4 A of YPK Klasaman Elementary School, Sorong City. Data collection techniques in this research used interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that the condition of students' interest in reading is good. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students in carrying out reading activities for 15 minutes before the lesson takes place or ends later during free time. The students fill the free time by reading textbooks and non-lessons in their respective seats, both in the library and in the classroom. Then, researchers found that there were several inhibiting factors, namely: There were still two students who could not read, there were no reading corners in each class except in the library, there was a lack of role and support from some parents. Supporting factors are the role and support of the teacher and most of the parents, then the teacher carries out reading activities for 15 minutes using textbooks or non-textbooks available in the library or student handbooks and there is great enthusiasm from the students.</em></p> Clara Angelin Maless, Abdulrahman Hatsama, Abdul Hafid Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PENDIDIKAN DAN KEGURUAN https://jpk.joln.org/index.php/2/article/view/422 Mon, 11 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN STRATEGI CROSSWORD PUZZLE DI MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH MIFTAHUL ULUM KABUPATEN MEMPAWAH https://jpk.joln.org/index.php/2/article/view/425 <p><em>The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Aqidah Akhlaq in Grade IV of MI Miftahul Ulum. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles, namely Cycle I and Cycle II, where each cycle is a series of activities consisting of four stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage and the reflection stage. The data collection techniques used were written tests, interviews, observations and documentation. The subjects of this study were 30 fourth-grade students, consisting of 16 boys and 14 girls. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the process of learning Aqidah Akhlaq by applying the crossword puzzle strategy can help students understand the material easily, making learning more enjoyable and involving students to be more active in the learning process. The students' learning outcomes have improved greatly in each cycle, as seen from the average score for each cycle, which has increased. This can be seen from the comparison of student learning outcomes before the implementation of the crossword puzzle strategy, there are still many students who have not reached the minimum learning standards, as seen from the pre-cycle average score of 58.33. Then after the implementation of the crossword puzzle strategy, student learning outcomes increased, as seen from cycle I with an average of 85.33. Meanwhile, cycle II also increased from the results of cycle I, which was an average of 92.33.
